The children meet Italian State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Italian Ambassador to Nepal and India
On October 29, 2014 on the occasion of the official visit to Nepal of the Italian State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova, and Italian Ambassador to Nepal and India, Daniele Mancini, the EvK2CNR Chartered Association President organized a meeting with all the children supported by the Foundation Benoit Chamoux, the charitable organization set up in memory of veteran French mountaineer Benoit Chamoux, to help raising funds to support the studies of the children of Sherpa mountaineer falling during their attempts to Himalayan Peak.
The thirteen children were accompanied by Pasang Dawa Sherpa, Vice Chairman of Himalayan Trust Nepal and Pasang Sherpa Lama, Chief Administrative Officer of Himalayan Trust Nepal, who have a very important bridge role between Benoit Chamoux Foundation and the children as well as their guardian, also attending the meeting.
The meeting was very intense and emotional, the Italian State Minister and Ambassador pass on good wishes to the children and expressed their congratulations for the admirable and exceptional work done.
Among the children, two new young students, Ang Sumba and Ang Ngima Sherpa, sons of Sherpa mountaineer died during the last Everest avalanche accident, currently attending the HIMS, were present.
Another brilliant student present at the meeting was Nima Tenzi Sherpa, who passed the exam to enter the Kathmandu Engineering College. Nima ws really grateful to EvK2CNR President Agostino Da Polenza and the Foundation for the huge and unforgettable support to himself and other orphan children of fallen mountaineer.
The meeting ended with the endowment of sweets and snacks to the children and their donation of Sherpa Khada to all Italian delegation.
